Union Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy met EV startup founders in Bengaluru on 4 July 2026.
Founders of Ather Energy, Matter, River, Euler Motors, and Raptee.HV attended the meeting.
The meeting was held at HMT Bhavan in Bengaluru.
The industry demanded an extension of the PM E-DRIVE incentive scheme.
Founders also sought revisions to the PLI Auto scheme to better support new-age EV companies.
They said continued policy support is crucial for scaling manufacturing, boosting exports, and sustaining R&D investment.
Minister Kumaraswamy reiterated the government's commitment to building a globally competitive EV ecosystem.

India aims to achieve net-zero emissions by 2070 through indigenous EV manufacturing.
The government is pushing Aatmanirbhar Bharat and Viksit Bharat 2047 initiatives.
Startups are among the country's largest investors in R&D and manufacturing.

The government will continue supporting efforts to build a globally competitive EV ecosystem.
Founders expect policy revisions to be announced in upcoming budget sessions.
