Production took place on location in Jharkhand rather than on artificial studio sets to capture authentic rural surroundings.
The storyline follows the protagonist choosing to stay in his drought-ridden village to find solutions for the local water shortage.
Cast members physically dug water channels during production to better understand the manual labor involved in the true story.
