The bigger picture
- Amazon India approached Swiggy in July 2024 to buy into Instamart, but the deal fell through.
- Amazon built its own quick commerce service Amazon Now instead of acquiring Instamart.
- Amazon Now runs in five cities with roughly 4.5 to 5 lakh daily orders.
- The Indian quick commerce market does about 7.8 million orders/day and ₹11,000 crore/month GMV as of January 2026.
- Blinkit leads with 46-48% market share, Instamart has 23-25%, Zepto 22%, and Amazon Now+Flipkart Minutes are in single digits.
