- Anand Kripalu, chairman of Swiggy's board, acknowledged Barua's contribution.

The bigger picture
- Barua's resignation comes shortly after Delhivery acquired rival Ecom Express for ₹1,407 crore in April 2025.
- Delhivery also entered rapid commerce (2-hour delivery) in Bengaluru, Chennai, and Hyderabad in January 2025.
- Barua had previously said that 10-15 minute deliveries may not be sustainable beyond groceries and FMCG.
- He noted that over 95% of the market is not amenable to quick commerce, and that quick commerce is eating share from kirana stores, not ecommerce.
