Headquartered in Bengaluru, Moneyview runs an app that distributes personal loans, cards, and savings options across India
What happened
The startup lowered its planned fresh issue from ₹1,500 crore to ₹750 crore alongside a smaller offer-for-sale pool
Why it matters
The move comes as domestic fintech companies face public markets with a heightened focus on bottom-line profitability
The details
- Moneyview has reduced its planned fresh issue (new shares sold to bring fresh cash into the company) to ₹750 crore from ₹1,500 crore.
- The startup also pared down its offer for sale (existing investors selling their ownership) to roughly 10.04 crore shares from up to 13.61 crore shares.
- These revised figures were formally announced on 14 September 2026 after receiving regulatory clearance on 10 September 2026.
- The firm plans to direct ₹325 crore toward loan disbursals backed by default loss guarantee (arrangements where a platform covers partner credit defaults) structures.
- An additional ₹250 crore will boost the net worth of its wholly owned lending arm, Whizdm Finance.
- The rest of the proceeds from the fresh capital raise will fund general corporate purposes.
- Moneyview keeps open an option to conduct a pre-IPO placement (selling private shares ahead of the public debut) of up to ₹300 crore.
The bigger picture
- Market regulator SEBI reviewed the draft documents and provided its observations on 29 June 2026.
- Venture backers such as Accel, Tiger Global, and Ribbit Capital opted to dilute fewer shares in the secondary pool.
- Private equity firm Apis Partners decided to pull out of the public share sale entirely.
- Promoters Puneet Agarwal and Sanjay Aggarwal kept their planned personal share sales intact at 13,548,300 shares each.
About the business
- Moneyview runs an online marketplace distributing unsecured personal loans, commercial credit, home financing, and loans against property.
- The enterprise operates through its dedicated non-banking financial subsidiary, Whizdm Finance Private Limited.
- It partners directly with regulated commercial banks and NBFCs to underwrite and disburse credit across the country.
- The application reaches customers in more than 18,400 pincodes, counting over 12 crore registered users.
- Borrowers can take personal loans ranging from ₹5,000 to ₹10,00,000 for tenures extending up to five years.
- Beyond credit, the company sells financial products such as fixed deposits, digital gold starting at ₹10, and vehicle policies.
- Assets under management on the platform reached ₹19,814.82 crore by the end of December 2025.
