- Tencent exited PB Fintech by selling its entire 1.05% stake through a block deal.
- The deal was valued at ₹805.4 Cr (about $85 Mn).
- Tencent sold 48.4 lakh shares at ₹1,664 per share.
- The seller was Tencent's affiliate Tencent Cloud Europe BV.
- Morgan Stanley Asia Singapore bought 21.4 lakh shares worth ₹356.2 Cr.
- Societe Generale bought 10.76 lakh shares worth ₹179 Cr.
- Ghisallo Master Fund LP bought 7.93 lakh shares worth ₹132 Cr.
- HDFC Mutual Fund and Tata AIA Life Insurance also participated.
The bigger picture
- Tencent first invested in PB Fintech in 2019 with a minority stake for about $150 Mn.
- At PB Fintech's 2021 IPO, Tencent held 9.16% stake.
- Tencent had reduced its stake to 2.12% by December 2025.
- In March 2026, Tencent sold 1.06% for ₹694.65 Cr via block deals.
- Earlier, Temasek sold its entire 5.42% stake in February 2026 for ₹2,425 Cr.

- PB Fintech operates Policybazaar (insurance marketplace) and Paisabazaar (lending marketplace).
- Policybazaar launched in 2008 and is India's largest digital insurance marketplace with 93.4% market share by policies sold in FY2020.
