The details
- Ixigo reported a consolidated net profit of ₹34.2 Cr for Q1 FY27, up 81% from ₹18.9 Cr a year ago.
- Operating revenue rose 13% YoY to ₹356.8 Cr, and total income including other income of ₹29.2 Cr was ₹385.9 Cr.
- Expenses increased 15% YoY to ₹337.8 Cr, and the company recorded a loss of about ₹4 Cr from an associate.
- Quarterly EBITDA was ₹53.5 Cr, up 65% YoY, and contribution margin stood at ₹144.9 Cr, up 13%.
- Gross transaction value (GTV) for the quarter was ₹5,524 Cr.
- The board approved acquiring an 11% stake in Zoop (online food delivery on trains) from Puneet Sharma and Manoj Kumar Singh for ₹36.4 Cr cash, raising ixigo's stake to 73%.
- The board also approved an investment of €219,200 (₹2.4 Cr) in Singapore subsidiary ixigo Pte Ltd.
- During Q1, ixigo acquired traveltech startup Brevistay in a ₹65.7 Cr deal.
The bigger picture
- The profit jump shows strong operating leverage as revenue grew faster than expenses.
- Bus vertical GTV grew 39% YoY and revenue grew 34%; flights GTV grew 27% but was impacted by fare inflation from the West Asian conflict.
